Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know before contacting me
No — quite the opposite. My service is designed to operate on live systems, without ever shutting down or interrupting the servers. I use ESD-certified equipment and techniques specific to mission-critical IT environments, allowing me to work safely while the infrastructure stays up and running.
It depends on the size of the server room. A single rack takes about 1–2 hours. A room with 10 racks is a full working day. Before every job I do a free site survey to estimate the time accurately and plan without surprises.
Yes: I'm based in Rome, which remains where I work most often, but for company contracts, multiple sites and larger projects I travel anywhere in Italy. Travel is always quoted transparently together with the estimate, with no surprises on the invoice.
It depends on the environment. In dusty or high-traffic environments I recommend every 3 months. For standard environments with good air filtration, every 6 months is enough. For clients with an annual contract I set up a custom scheduled-maintenance plan.
I work directly with private companies, offering full flexibility on scheduling and how the service is carried out. For the Public Administration I operate as a technical subcontractor: I support system integrators and IT maintenance companies that already hold contracts or win public tenders, handling the technical cleaning on their behalf. In both cases I provide full documentation with before/after photos and certification of the work.
The standard service includes: external cleaning of servers, switches and network equipment (fronts, panels, cabinets) with ESD-certified vacuums, cleaning of accessible filters and airflow optimization, floating-floor cleaning, cable tidying and management, and full before/after photo documentation — always on a live system, without opening individual units. More in-depth work on internal components is only available on specific request. The initial site survey and quote are always free.
This is exactly the scenario the service is designed to avoid: I work with ESD-certified equipment, procedures built for live equipment, and no rush. If damage were to happen despite this, every job is covered by professional liability insurance up to €1,000,000 — and I'm the one responsible, not a subcontractor you'd have to track down.
Yes. NOSHUT operates with professional liability insurance up to €1,000,000 covering every job. Policy documentation is available on request, even at the quote stage — for many companies it's a requirement for site access, and it's fair to be able to verify it beforehand.
Yes, no problem: I sign NDAs, either on your template or a standard one. Confidentiality is standard practice regardless — what I see in your room, equipment, configurations, documents, stays in your room. Report photos are for the client's exclusive use unless written authorization says otherwise.
I follow the client's security procedures: sign-in at entry, visitor badges, and — if you'd like, and I'd actually recommend it — your staff accompanying me for the whole job. I provide ID and any details needed for authorization in advance. Since it's always the same person doing the work, things get simpler after the first visit.
Yes, it's included with every job: before/after photos, a list of the work carried out, conditions found, and any anomalies noticed (filters to replace, noisy fans, at-risk cabling) to flag to your IT team. Also useful as documentation for audits and to justify maintenance internally. You can download a sample report in the Portfolio section.
Yes: evenings, weekends or agreed time windows are the norm for critical environments, not the exception. The service doesn't require shutting equipment down anyway, so the time is chosen purely for your organization's convenience — we work out the window together during the site survey.
