Post-Renovation Sanitization
Just finished construction work near the server room? Here's what needs to be done
After construction work or a renovation, even some distance from the server room, construction dust seeps in and settles at the base of the racks and on the floating floor. It's a different kind of buildup from "normal" dust: finer, more abundant, and it gets pulled into the equipment's cooling fans if it isn't removed in time.
Practical guidance: it's best to wait about 24-48 hours after the dustiest work finishes, to let the heavier dust settle, before doing the thorough technical cleaning. I work to the ISO 14644-1 standard (the same one I cite among my reference standards) for decontaminating IT environments: ESD-certified HEPA vacuuming on the floating floor, rack base and cabling, without dispersing particulate into the air.
- Live-system service: equipment stays on, no dedicated maintenance window.
- Price varies based on the amount of construction debris and dust found — I assess it in person during the free site survey, not with a fixed rate set in advance.
- Before/after photo report included.
